Are You Getting the iPad?

It’s almost here, time to get the iPad. The question is, are you getting it? If you have watched any YouTube iPad unboxing videos you will know they are nothing special. One thing I am puzzled with is the lack of headphones in the box.

People have been waiting to get their hands on the iPad for a couple days now. My grandmother told me today that there are people waiting outside the Apple store in NYC since yesterday in attempt to be the first to get the iPad.

All apps that where used on the iPod will still be compatible with the iPad, just tap a button to make it full screen. Of course this will cause loss in quality because the apps where not designed for that resolution. There are already thousands of apps ready for the iPad and are download ready. While looking at a few new iPad apps I noticed that they are very expensive compared to iPod apps. I don’t understand why this is necessary because there is no hugh difference in coding, just a bigger resolution and more room. I predict that eventually the prices will go down due to loss of sale, but that is obvious.

Did any of you guys actually watch Chris Pirillo’s “unboxing” of the iPad? I know I tweeted out questioning why he didn’t unbox it right away. Later I realized that the box was white, and the one he had was black; instantly I thought HAHA APRIL FOOLS! This morning I woke up and laughed at his Youtube video because all the people in the chat actually thought he was going to unbox a real iPad. He just printed out an iPad picture on a black background and put it on an old time capsule box. I have to say he had me going for a little.

Are any of you guys getting the iPad? I think I am going to wait for the 2G, the 2G of anything is always better. Comments Welcome!
