iPhone 4G Rumors

As Gizmodo says, a young Apple employee was going out to a bar to celebrate his birthday,  this young man had what is to be believed to be a prototype of the new iPhone.  As the story goes, he was celebrating a little to much and he ended up leaving the device on the bar.  Then comes along someone who says to himself, “iPhone, let me get a hold of that!”  So he stashes it into his pocket.  Once he gets home, he is looking at the device and notices what appears to be a front facing camera. He takes the case off the phone, which made the iPhone look just like a 3G or 3GS from the outside.  He is surprised by what he sees.  It’s a new iPhone!  He had the privilege of playing with the OS that was installed on the device until he went to sleep and woke up to a remotely wiped device.  So he decides he is going to sell the iPhone 4G, HD, what every you would like to call it, to a tech blog.  After many e-mail and phone conversations, most people thought it was a prank but, Gizmodo took a leap of faith and purchased the iPhone, for what is being said a sum of $5,000.  Now that is a lot of money for a possible joke.  It could blow up in there face, hypothetically of course.  That is how the phone ended up in the hands of Gizmodo.

Let’s get to the specs of this so called, iPhone 4G.  Reportedly, this iPhone is small all the way around but makes up for it with a higher resolution screen. I would take the higher resolution screen versus a larger screen any day of the week. Since the iPhone’s only display is the sync to iTunes screen, the guys are raving just about the resolution of the USB cable.  The sides are aluminum while the back in plastic.  And obviously the front is the multi-touch glass screen that we have all come to know and love.  The volume switch is now two separate buttons.  The Vibrate switch seems to look more flush than the previous iPhones.  On the top, the headphone jack is still there, along with the Power/Lock button.  But something is missing from the top that some people seem to over look on the previous iPhones.  If you look at the right side of the device, you see the new Micro SIM slot.  And finally on the bottom you have the speakers and mic.  But back on the top there is another hole next to the headphone jack.  This is believed to be another mic that will be used for noise cancelation.

As for internally, the biggest thing to note is that the guts of the phone are noticeably smaller.  This is done to make room for a larger battery that will help us keep our iPhones from running out of battery while we forget to quit apps that are running in the background with the Multi-Tasking.

So what do you think?  Is this really the next iPhone or just a little white lie gone wrong?   Personally I think this entire thing is just a hoax that Apple developed to build up hype about this new iPhone.  Let me know what you think.  Send me a tweet on twitter or drop me an e-mail at dylanmitchell92@me.com.
